Bracken Ridge

THE LOCATION

Bracken Ridge is a diverse ‘family friendly’ suburb approximately 20 kilometres from Brisbane CBD.  A number of relatively new housing estates are located within the suburb, including The Oaks, Enbrook Heights and Sungate Estate.  Or, you can enjoy your golden years at the local ‘retirement resort’ where all the amenities you need are close at hand.

Younger residents are well catered for with St Josephs Catholic, Bracken Ridge and Norris Road Primary Schools and secondary schools including Bracken Ridge High School and St John Fisher College for Girls. Further educational opportunities are available at the Brisbane North Institute of TAFE. The surrounding suburbs have a number of other schooling options including St Patricks College for boys and in Shorncliffe and St Pauls College in Bald Hills.

Bracken Ridge is situated between the Caboolture and Shorncliffe railway lines with easy access to Bald Hills Station and good bus services.  Across the Gateway Motorway are the Deagon Wetlands and a little further east is the fishing and boating fun of Moreton Bay and Sandgate where plenty of great dining options can be found.

THE LIFESTYLE

Bracken Ridge boasts a strong community support system and a great off-leash dog area and several parks.  It’s only a hop, skip and jump away from the seaside village of Sandgate with its historic buildings and bayside charm.

You’re not far from the foreshores where children can walk miles out and never be more than knee deep in water.  Pet owners throw balls for their dogs to chase into the water and there’s always someone dropping a fishing line over the nearby Shorncliffe jetty.

Sandgate and the surrounding suburbs host some popular annual events including Music by the Sea, The Einbunpin Festival and the Bluewater Festival, which celebrates the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race every Easter,

For those that love shopping, movies and eateries, you have a number of major shopping centres nearby including Westfield Strathpine and the massive Chermside complex with its fabulous Megaplex movie theatres and restaurants.
