The Location

Brisbane’s most northerly coastal suburb is Brighton, only 25-30 minutes drive from the city or an easy commute by train from Sandgate. Here is one of the loveliest and most relaxed suburbs you’ll find.

Residents are well catered for with three primary schools; Brighton and Nashville State Schools and St Keiran’s Catholic Primary School. The Northside Autistic Children’s Therapy Centre is also located in Brighton. There are a number of other primary and secondary schools in the surrounding suburbs including St John Fisher Girls College in Bracken Ridge, St Patrick’s College for boys in Shorncliffe and the North Point Institute of TAFE located in Bracken Ridge.

Small and medium shopping precincts are scattered throughout Brighton, with Eventide situated on Beaconsfield Terrace, Nathan Street, Lascelles Street, North Road and numerous local corner stores. With Doctors, pathology, chemists, florists, convenience stores, bakers, gifts, butchers, restaurants, clothes, beauty and popular fish and chip shops.

The Lifestyle

Brighton is a most desirable suburb with its wonderful bayside esplanade used by walkers and cyclists and enjoyed by families.

It boasts glorious vistas from just about everywhere you look. There’s the beautiful Pine River, lined with mangroves, Moreton Bay with its long horizons and the dual Houghton Highways connecting Brisbane with the Redcliffe Peninsula across Bramble Bay.

Brighton Beach has become well known for its kite surfing and is enjoyed by walkers during low tide as well as being a popular spot to throw in a fishing line.

Brighton and the surrounding suburbs host some popular annual events including Music by the Sea, The Einbunpin Festival and the Bluewater Festival, which celebrates the start of the Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race every Easter.

Education is covered in the public and private sectors, from early childhood to primary schools with secondary and further education close by within the surrounding suburbs.
